Brendon Marcus lives for his work A boy genius who fast tracked his way to college professor by his early twenties he doesn’t know any other way to be People confound him So when Josh Horton the assistant football coach pursues him. 375Its a favourite trope of mine the geeky guy getting the hunky jock so I was looking forward to this one and I wasn't disappointed Lightweight easy read that wasn't over long and filled an afternoon nicely Brendon's a genius and very literal in all senses of the word and Joshua's completely the opposite sporty hunky but very kind and sweet For its type it works very well and there's some nice chemistry going on between the two of them Bit of trouble in the wings with a nasty professor who I agree I would have liked to have seen get of a comeuppance and some nice sexy moments Not the most earth shattering story but sometimes you don't always want that Rounded up but not uite 4 stars because I felt it slowed down a bit just before the end but it wasn't far off Enjoyable

Organic Chemistry Chemistry #1Brendon isn’t Organic Chemistry PDF or sure what to make of him Josh has his own problems His successful parents aren’t particularly happy with his career path and some of the players don’t like having a gay assistant coach He be. Wow I really really really struggled with this one I made it to the 60% mark then just couldn't force myself to continue This was classic genius the jock trope I'm not sure uite what Andrew Grey was trying to do with Brendon's character though Brendon wasn't uite high functioning Asperger’s although I suspect this is what he was supposed to be he was definitely not autistic nor was he ADHD or a savant his character nearly met the absent minded professor or mad scientist definition but not uite because of the amount of time I spent trying to either diagnose Brendon's disorder or 'correct' the mistakes Grey had made if the character was Asperger’s I found myself becoming frustrated with the book add in what was to me a cliché plot devise with the sophomoric departmental politics I just couldn’t finish the book Authors who incorporate some form of disability into their characters have to be so very careful with their research because they are going to get readers like myself who have intimate knowledge of the disorder will start picking holes in the book to alleviate their frustration with perceived errors My star rating is completely subjective with this one the writing style is good; spelling grammar are top notch but I just couldn’t get past the frustration over Brendon’s behaviour

Audiobook reviewI have a weakness okay so I have many weaknesses I'm a versatile girl after all ; Anyway I have a weakness for geeks the socially awkward and oblivious ones Add in a scientist and a chemistry one at that and that book has my name on itBrendon has always been on the outside looking in on life Being smarter than most everyone he meets he's only had his work to keep him company That is until he meets Josh the assistant football coach I liked Brendon and Josh together and I loved watching Josh teach Brendon about life and muddling through a new relationship or in Brendon’s case his very first relationship His first kiss Meeting the parents But also teach each other to stand up for themselves and each otherNick J Russo was great as usual There's a reason why he's on my short list of narrators where I don't need to sample the book before picking it up I loved how he handled the obliviousness of Brendon and balancing Josh he captured the essence of the characters in a really good wayOrganic chemistry was a low angst story about a chemistry professor and the football coach It was sweet and funny and perfect when you want to dream away to college for a while A copy of this book was generously provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review
