Cadence of My Heart“She’d positively vibrated with the thought of being the one to break through that last vestige of childhood and bring her darling Cadence fully into womanhood But at the same time she hadn’t been able to overlook the magnitude of the responsibility Hadn’t been able to overlook it nor come to ter. My second book by this author and not at all a bad read I did however have trouble looking away from the age gap in this one I think what caused that was because Marlee has known Cadence since she was 13 Sure nothing happened back then but Cadence was still such a young girl although nowadays 13 year olds look like 18 year oldsThe other thing that bothered me a little was the realism of it all The father being a total perv doesn't surprise me one bit but demanding Marlee dressing the way she does and even buying her outfits seems a little too much The same goes for the view spoilerwedding hide spoiler

Ear old Marlee Meeks isn’t exactly sure how long she’s harbored romantic feelings for her young charge Cadence Ashlock but by the time they share their first forbidden kiss she knows their lives have become dangerously entangledCadence of My Heart is an erotic romanceContains graphic explicit languag. After having read two of the author's books I can see a pattern here THE PATTERNShe seems to be very partial about a particular pairing of her main characters a minor mature beyond her years and certain about her sexuality and an irresistibly beautiful and curvaceous 30 something wet dream The book sits on the border between erotic novella and lesbian romance It's on the shorter side and the sexual and amorous tension between the leads develops early on No time to wasteThere is view spoilerHEA or at least a prospect of it hide spoiler

Yes a re read was in order because I wanted to end this year on a high note and that means ending with a TelfordCadence of my heart is thematically the same as The Housemistress meaning a relationship between a teenager and a woman twice her age If you know Keira Michelle Telford's work you know age gap relationships are her thing Now I know that it's all sorts of wrong a taboo but the way Telford plays with it reasons with it seduces you with it you can't help but come around and end up loving the storyI have to confess I loved The Housemistress Maybe it's because Vivienne Carriveau put up of a struggle against her lusty feelings than Marlee Meeks did in this story But the build up is still delicious and I still give it 5 stars
