Anansi Island starts innocently enough though there’s clearly some history to be told The teacher teaches cleverly enough though the children are a little unruly They’re very real though as is she and they’re easily imagined Then the roller coaster moves to the top of the climbAnansi Island is a successfully scary tale of a young woman trapped on a mysterious island using her intelligence and wits to help her survive Revelations come slowly one step at a time keeping the reader off balance while Laurel balances too much knowledge with slowly growing dread There’s none of the “Don’t open the door” feel of the traditional horror movie but plenty of “Uh Oh”I liked that the protagonist was an intelligent woman making wise decisions And I liked the logic of the tale A fun and scary lunchtime read I’d definitely recommend it But don’t eat outside not where the spiders bite

Hings the world was never meant to seeAs Laurel finds herself entangled in the island's newest and most bizarre chapter she must not only solve its mysteries but also survive long enough to. Anansi Island was a uick read but what it lacks in length it makes up for with a gripping story As there are plenty of creepy crawlies in this book I found myself itching at imagined sensations The story was about the plight of a woman who is stranded on an island accidentally her struggle to survive and hopefully escape Many uestions remain at the end of the novelette and I always enjoy having some food for thought and discussion if I know others who have read it There are stories I come across from time to time that I wish were adapted into film and this is definitely one of them

Anansi IslandPass them onThis short story about words mixes science fiction and horror with endearing and enigmatic characters who can only solve the mysteries of Anansi Island by facing their worst fear. screams in frustrationWondering why that is Well it's because I wish that this would have been a full length novel instead of a short storyChristian wrote a wonderfully well rounded short; I always wonder how authors do this It seems to me that it's almost harder to write a short story compared to a novel Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think soIt was great; the storyline is something I could easily see as a movie It would make for a great scriptFor a short read it packs a big punch I think the author should write a part twoeven if it's just for me smile
